The New Old Songs

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

Here’s a nostalgic show. During the past month we’ve been programming a lot of contemporary songs and I thought it would be fun to do another night of older “new” songs that are headed toward becoming the folk songs of the future. The current idea was certainly aided by the release of new albums by Tom Paxton and Anne Hills, Fred Holstein and Weavermania (Tom Dundee, Michael Smith, Barbara Barrow and Mark Dvorak) that take a “look back “ There are a few traditional pieces mixed in because I couldn’t resist. This was a real sing along night.

We started the show off with some guitar work from Peter Lang who has just put out his first studio recording since 1978. For contrast, we included a few of his cuts from the 1970s.
