10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters
The Music Of Shlomo Carlebach & Live In Studio A: Eric Garrison, Michael Hsu and Kevin Briody What a fine way to kick off a New Year. The opening half hour was devoted to the music of the late Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, one of the most prolific composers of liturgical folk melodies of the last century. We have featured his music for years on the show. His daughter, Neshama, who carries on his musical tradition, will be appearing at the Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven on Jan. 12. Thanks to the JCC, we had several pairs of tickets to give away to listeners. For the shows remaining two hours we strolled down to WSHUs Studio A for in-studio performances in the round from Eric Garrison, Michael Hsu and Kevin Briody. Eric and Kevin are from Connecticut and Michael, who grew up in Connecticut, now hails from Brooklyn. They will be in concert together on Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. at the carriage Barn at Waveny Park in New Canaan. The Songs Of Shlomo Carlebach
