During the first hour of this week’s show the spotlight falls on the upcoming 15th annual NOMAD (Northeast Music, Art And Dance) Festival, taking place Oct. 25-17 in nearby Newtown. Joining us in the studio again this year were John and Carol Mazza of Trumbull, two of the integral “movers and shakers” behind the all-volunteer festival. John is also one of the hosts of WNHU’s Sunday “Folk Show.” For more information on NOMAD check out the Web at www.geocities.com/nomadfest/ We programmed selections from performers who volunteer their talents for the festival as well as a few of the late Alan Lomax’s field recordings. NOMAD opens with a special panel discussion and tribute to Lomax.
World music dominated the show’s second hour, including selections from the women’s group Libana, which is making as rare appearance in Connecticut the weekend this show airs.
