A Real Mix Of Old And New

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

This show spotlights two performers who will be appearing in Connecticut during the next week and new remarkable albums from singer/songwriters.

Performing in our area will be Joseph Hickerson, the retired longtime head of the Archive of Folksong at the Library of Congress, and Celtic fiddler extraordinaire Eileen Ivers. Hickerson, who grew up in nearby New Haven, on the day after this show would present a special workshop on “My 50+ Years of Folksongs From New Haven to the Library of Congress” at the 16th Annual Northeast Music, Arts and Dance Festival in New Haven.

Other selections were taken from an exquisite and moving musical collaboration by Ellis Paul and Vance Gilbert and two fine albums by Midwestern singer/songwriter Tim Grimm that merit a lot of exposure.
