A Night of Old Time Music

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

This show featured an old-timey and bluegrass thread running through most of it, largely because I wanted to place the spotlight on Bruce Molsky, an outstanding old-time musician who’s appearing in our broadcast area this weekend. Molsky performs some amazing music, both as a solo artist and as an ensemble player with groups such as Fiddlers 4 and Mozaik. Check out www.brucemolsky.com

As for the night’s other artists, the Hot Point String Band members hail from Ohio, the Hunger Mountain Boys from Massachusetts and Kent Gustavson from our broadcast area on Long Island, where he’s working toward a PhD in classical composition. Check out www.kentgustavson.com
