A Spring Potpourri

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

This show resembles all the various "early" flowers and shrubs that are blooming in New England as spring and warmer weather takes hold. The music's as varied and colorful as our flora. Three performers more at home in mainstream popular music than folk and acoustic music comprise most of the show's first hour. The second hour's music comes from performers who will be appearing in our broadcast area and in the case of Open Book (Michele Rubin and Rick Gedney) on our show next week. For the initial hour, we dipped backed into the folk file (via a recent box set reissue) to program a bit of Donovan Leitch and offered a sizeable taste of two new surprising albums from Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famers Bruce Springsteen and Dion DiMucci (of Dion & The Belmonts fame).
