Old Friends With New Releases

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

This was a simple night of selections from new additions — mostly singer/songwriters — to the “Profiles in Folk” music library for our audience’s listening enjoyment.

“Old Friends” in the theme thread comes from three perspectives: The music of David Mallett and John Prine stretch back to the beginning of “Profiles in Folk” more than 33 years ago; Gail Wade, Erica Wheeler, Donna Martin and Cece Borjeson have all been guests on the show, and an old friend, knowing that Uncle Earl would be one the string bands featured on next week’s show, dropped by during the show with a solo CD of Abigail Washburn, a member of Uncle Earl, so we closed the night with her singing in Chinese no less!
