Electric Folk — More or Less

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

Let the hot music on Profiles In Folk continue as the “dog days of August” arrive. This past week has featured record temperatures in the Northeast and severe pressure on the New England electricity grid. I decided to plug in as the temperatures began to recede. The show is a mix of old favorites and new releases that mostly nibble on the edges of the genre known as “electric folk”, although admittedly a few of these groups don’t employ electric guitars. But there sure was plenty of drumming!
