Singer/Songwriters & A Bit of Bluegrass

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

Following last week’s “Live in Studio A” focus on young singer/songwriters, the first part of this week’s program highlights three new outstanding releases from Erik Balkey, one of the young songwriters in our studios last week, and Lucy Kaplansky and Richard Shindell, two deservedly revered and gifted figures in the world of songwriting. Then we took a listen back to the artistry of Cry Cry Cry, the acoustic trio of Kaplansky, Shindell and Dar Williams that toured from 1998-2000. We finished up the night with a bit of bluegrass from groups that will be appearing soon in our broadcast area.
