The greater part of the show takes a musical look at some performers who will be appearing in our broadcast area in the next two weeks as the Connecticut Folk Festival and the fall coffeehouse season approaches.
The last half hour was devoted to the late John Wright, one of my favorite artists from the United Kingdom who I belatedly learned died on Feb. 7 at age 60. A tribute concert was taking place this same night in Newcastle, England.
The show opened up with selections from one of the latest “buzzes” in bluegrass — young mandolinist Sierra Hull.
