Christmas Across The Pond/Happy Chanukah!

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

This is the second of three shows of music for the holidays, with this show focusing on music of the Christmas season, both secular and religious, from England, Ireland and Scotland and music for the start of the Jewish festival of Chanukah, which starts on Sunday at sundown. This show featured a set in memory of renowned Scottish fiddle virtuoso (and Silly Wizard member) Johnny Cunningham, who died five years ago this month. The music is from a collaboration between Johnny and writer Thomas Moore.

We opened our seasonal programming with two hours of primarily secular winter and Christmas songs last week and continue next Friday with a show on the Christmas Story in Folk and Acoustic Music.
