This program employs a simple theme: Musicians who’ve been performing for decades (and beloved by “Profiles in Folk” listeners) who’ve recently released new albums. The late Bob Gibson selections are a case of “old wine, new bottles.” Meridian Green, his daughter, has repackaged albums to which Gibson owned the rights and added a few never-previously-released cuts. It’s a fine tribute to her father, one of the leading catalysts of the 1950s folk revival. The Del McCoury material is culled from a 5 CD box set celebrating his 50th year as a bluegrass artist.
