Bob Dylan: Blowin’ In The Wind

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

A special pre-recorded show. I’m on vacation this week (at a folk festival, where else?) and we’re offering up a “show within a show”. The bookends are selected recordings of covers of Bob Dylan songs. Between the bookends is a special one-hour show from our friends at Joyride Media and Sony/BMG of Bob Dylan’s early years in New York City. It’s hosted by rock star Patti Smith and features many of Dylan’s classic songs.

It’s a veritable lesson in American music history and insights into one of – if not the – single most important singer-songwriter of the 20th century. It’s also an introduction to the formative years of many performers who emerged from the folk music revival of the 1960s.
