A Programmer's Back Lot

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

Call this program what you will - a musical mélange, odds and ends, a hotchpotch, a mingle-mangle. It's all fine music. It's simply a disparate collection of music culled from out-of-print albums, overlooked selections, obscure releases. There are themes: a bit for the kids in the listening audience, a dash of humor and parody, a few complaints about society, another interpretation of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody for the second time in a month, observance of Jerry Garcia's birth and death dates and a song in tribute to ex-pat banjo player Derroll Adams, an old sidekick of Ramblin' Jack Elliott in the 1950s. Listener response to this mélange was quite good.
