Fat Tuesday, Hammered Dulcimer Delights & Love Songs

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

Connecticut is deep in the embrace of a historic blizzard as this show (taped the night before!) airs. So it offers pumped-up Cajun/Zydeco music to get listeners dancing (and warm) in their living rooms, love songs to warm their hearts and an enchanting set of Celtic music from multi-instrumentalists Karen Ashbrook and Paul Oorts of Maryland.

Of course, the show was also a nod to the coming Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day and the fact that Ashbrook and Oorts’ debut at the Branford Folk Music Society Saturday night fell victim to Storm Nemo. The society said they are trying to reschedule the concert.
