This Show’s For Dad

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

This edition of Profiles in Folk comprises everything “Dad” as we start the Father’s Day weekend. There are songs for and about “my old man”, songs in memory of departed fathers, songs from dads to their children and some tunes from groups that include a father and his offspring. In addition, my thanks go out to the American Roots Music Festival at Caramoor in Katonah, N.Y. and to Maggi Landau, its roots music artistic director, for enabling us to offer Profiles listeners the opportunity to vie during the next two shows for passes to the June 29 festival that will feature, among a host of artists, the Del McCoury Band.
