This was the Friday night that the Erik Balkey and Annie Donahue, aka The Copper Ponies, were scheduled to join us live in WSHU’s Studio A as part of a New England tour. However, the great news from Erik last week that he and Annie will be parents later this year and that led to their cancelling almost all their summer appearances, including visiting with us. We send our blessings to them both — and to the expected baby.
So, I cobbled together a show that features selections for 75 minutes-plus of a handful of artists (including Erik and Annie) who’ve been past guests in our studios and followed that wonderful music with selections from two new albums by outstanding songwriters Dan Berggren and Jeff Cannon. Burning Bridget Cleary provided the night’s closing air.
