A Potpourri Of Folk

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

There’s no real theme to this program — just plenty of good folk and acoustic music. The first 75 minutes of the show is taken up with selections from the never-ending flow of new releases, while the second portion consists of softer sounds — including some “classical folk” — to lull you into a deep overnight sleep.

Among the highlights: Selections from a three-CD boxed set of recordings from the legendary Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on Tompkins Square Records. Bob Westcott and James O’Malley, both Long Island singer-songwriters who have been guests on Profiles in Folk, will be performing together this weekend in Bay Shore at the Eclectic Cafe.
