Indeed, songwriters reign supreme during the program’s first hour. Featured are three of the contemporary folk and acoustic music scene’s very best songwriters. Their craft is intelligent and insightful; precise, powerful and provocative. All three do not shy from tackling today’s thorny social issues. Several performers slated to appear at the Green River Festival in Greenfield, Mass., next month are featured during the second hour as we offer listeners tickets to the festival. As bookends, there’s sterling instrumental work from Beppe Gambetta and Joel Mabus. Beppe’s appearing in nearby New Haven this coming week.
