A Summer Bouquet

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

Summer’s in full bloom both in color and music festivals. This program touches on that theme as I offer listeners the opportunity to win full passes to the 26th Annual Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (Aug. 1-3 in Hillsdale, N.Y.), one of America’s leading gatherings of singer/songwriters. The program includes a lengthy set that previews this year’s version of the festival’s popular Friday Night Summer Eve’s Song Swap.

Surrounding the song swap are selections from new albums from the Craven Family Band (and a few choice selections from The Stray Birds featuring Oliver Craven), Ashley Davis and Andrew Corbett. The wild card in the show is a pairing of Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby. Since I first programmed their duo album more than a year ago, listeners have been requesting more!
