This Show’s For Dad

10 p.m. to Midnight Host: Steve Winters

This edition of Profiles in Folk comprises everything “Dad” as we start the 2015 Father’s Day weekend. There are songs for and about “my old man”, songs in memory of departed fathers and tunes from groups that include a father and his offspring.

In addition, my thanks once again go out to the Green River Festival in Greenfield, Mass. and Flora Reed and Jim Olsen of Signature Sounds Records for enabling us to offer Profiles listeners the opportunity to vie during the next two shows for passes to the festival on July 10-11-12. The festival, chosen this year by Rolling Stone magazine as one of “2015’s must-see music festivals”, is expanding to three days and will feature a wide variety of artists including Richard Shindell, Lucy Kaplansky, Steve Earle, the Punch Brothers, the Milk Carton Kids and the Stray Birds.
